Protection Thyristors

The silicon based thyristors of the manufacturer ProTek Devices are crowbar devices.
Due to their characteristic they are able to handle high surge currents at higher trigger voltages.
Through its bidirectional design these thyristors switch AC voltages.
Once the voltage exceeds a certain threshold voltage, it turns on and becomes conductive.
They are switched-off by falling below the holding current.
