BIOSENSORS (BIO-Monitoring sensors)
Wearable applications enable the monitoring of vital signs for healthcare reasons and also for daily life activity tracking. An optical PPG system measures heart rate by tracking changes in the amount of absorbed light in the blood as vessels expand and contract with each heartbeat. The same principle is used to measure blood oxygen saturation (SpO2). Oxygenated hemoglobin has a significantly different pattern of light absorption than oxygen-free hemoglobin.
Electrocardiography (ECG) measures the pattern of the heart's electrical activity. Muscles contract and expand to pump blood throughout the body. This electrical sensing technique can be used to monitor sleeping patients to detect abnormal conditions or irregular heart activity.
Applications:
- Health monitoring
- Fitness tracking - blood pressure
- Vital signs/vital parameters (heart rate, temperature, blood sugar and blood oxygen saturation)
- medical non-invasive measurements
- Monitoring of the cardiovascular system
- PPG (photoplethysmography), PTT (partial thromboplastin time), SpO2, ECG (electrocardiography)
- Point-of-care testing (POCT) diagnostics
- Toxicology speed tests
- Blood pressure temperature monitoring
- HRV (Heart Rate Variability) tracking
- Hypoxic shock
- Heart rate and sleep monitoring
- Step/multisport mode
- ECG screening of disease symptoms
- Women's Periodic Health (Ovulation)
