Linear Sensors
Magnetic linear sensors measure the strength of magnetic fields and output the measurement result either as an analog voltage or PWM signal at the output pin, but sometimes also via digital interfaces such as SPI or I2C. This makes it possible, for example, to measure displacement by determining the distance between the magnet and the sensor with high accuracy. The geometry of the magnet and thus the shape of the (inhomogeneous!) magnetic field significantly determines the accuracy and the achievable measuring length of the displacement measurement.
