Infra-red LEDs
An infrared LED (IR-LED or IRED for short) is a special light emitting diode (LED, hence also infrared diode) that emits light in the near-infrared range with a wavelength (in maximum beam intensities) of 700 nm to 1000 nm. This region of the light spectrum is not visible to the human eye, but can be measured with radiation detectors made of pyroelectric materials or semiconductors, for example photodiodes, pyroelectric sensors or phototransistors.
