Lithium-Polymer-Batteries

The mode of operation of LiPo batteries is identical to that of lithium-ion batteries. Therefore, the same statements apply to lithium-polymer batteries as to lithium-ion batteries. The advantage is the almost infinite number of sizes due to the absence of a stable steel housing. Instead of a solid housing, a plastic-coated aluminum foil is used. This means that very thin battery designs can be realized.

Lithium polymer cells are therefore also lighter. In addition, the large number of different sizes leads to great design freedom for the end application. Individual dimensions are possible in relatively small quantities, so that the space available for the battery can be optimally utilized. The disadvantage is that the battery is more sensitive to mechanical influences due to the lack of a fixed housing.

In addition, the lithium polymer cells react critically to overcharging. LiPo batteries are therefore equipped with protective electronics that protect this rechargeable battery from overcharging. When charging, only chargers for this battery chemistry should be used. LiPo batteries are also known as soft/pouch cells.

Super capacitors from Ligna

The S-Power series was developed to provide an environmentally friendly supercapacitor for wireless electronics. With excellent cycling and performance capabilities, it is well suited for applications that require repeated fast discharging and charging. 

A supercapacitor, also known as an ultracapacitor or electric double layer capacitor (EDLC), is an energy storage device that bridges the gap between conventional capacitors and batteries. Unlike batteries, which store energy chemically, supercapacitors store energy electrostatically. This enables fast charging and makes them ideal for applications where rapid energy replenishment is required.

Both supercapacitors and batteries are adapting to new and innovative form factors. Supercapacitors generally offer greater versatility due to their simpler and more robust design. This makes them easier to integrate into flexible and thin-film technologies than batteries.

RX-2CH-LORA

The RX-2CH-LoRa by Aurel is a long-range radio transceiver for controlling two relay outputs with bistable, monostable, and timer modes. Paired with the TX-2CH-LoRa, it enables point-to-point control, relay status monitoring, and RF band compliance per EN 300 220-2.

It stores up to 100 remote controls and features a wall-mountable plastic enclosure, two programming buttons, and three LED indicators. Operating at 8-24Vac or 10-33Vdc, it integrates easily with gate opener systems, using 3.81mm terminal block connections for cables up to 1.5mm².

TX-6AB-LoRa

The TX-6AB-LoRa is a robust, bidirectional long-range radio remote control utilizing LoRa technology with variable code encoding. Paired with the RX-2CH-LoRa decoder, it manages two relay outputs in bistable, monostable, or timer mode while receiving real-time relay activation status.
