Photo Triacs

Via a transparent isolating material a photo triac, also called opto triac, of the manufacturer Cosmo, Everlight and CT Micro optically links an infrared LED and a phototriac within one housing.
Photo Triacs are typically used as solid-state AC switches.
Quite generally there are two classes of phototriacs available: with and without zero-crossing circuit. This internal circuit makes the triac switch on or off only when the applied alternating voltage is near the zero-value.
