ABC offers two different concepts for magnetic shielding of power choke coils.
On one hand there is the classic method, to fix a solid ferrite- shielding core by
epoxy adhesive to a wound drum core. On the other hand there is the so called
"semi shielded" version which applies an epoxy/ferrite powder mixture on the
winding area. The second method is called semi shielded because the shielding
performance is a little bit weaker than the classic shielding method. Advantages are
a compact and lightweight construction with attractive pricing.
